Terms of Service

By using Star Teacher you agree to these terms. If you are using it on behalf of a school or organisation, you agree on its behalf.

The service

Star Teacher lets teachers build exams and run live sessions that students join from a browser. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. During Phase 1 the service is offered without a paid plan and with no uptime guarantee.

Accounts

• Teacher and administrator accounts are created by an administrator.
• Keep your password secure and do not share your account.
• You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• upload unlawful, hateful, or infringing content into questions or exam titles;
• attempt to break, overload, probe, or reverse-engineer the service;
• use automated tools to join sessions or submit answers en masse;
• collect personal information about other users.

We may suspend accounts or sessions that break these rules.

Your content

Exams and questions you create remain yours. You grant us permission to store and display them as needed to run the service. You are responsible for having the right to use any content you upload, including imported question sets.

Student participants

Students join without an account by entering a code and a display name. The teacher running a session is responsible for the appropriateness of the exam and for any consent required to have students participate. See our Privacy Policy for what data is collected.

No warranty

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost. Keep your own copies of anything important.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Star Teacher and its operators are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for loss of data or profits, arising from use of the service.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the date above will change. Continued use after an update means you accept the new terms.
